About the Audio Trimmer

Beyond's Audio Trimmer cuts songs, voice notes and recordings down to the exact part you need. Load a file and its waveform appears: drag the purple handles to frame your section, fine-tune with the sliders, preview just the selection, and download it as a high-quality MP3 (192kbps) or lossless WAV. The classic jobs: a 20-second ringtone from a favourite chorus, the one useful minute from a long voice note, a clean clip for TikTok or a status.

Optional fade-in and fade-out smooth the edges so cuts never start or stop with a jolt — essential for ringtones and professional-sounding clips. And because the audio is decoded and cut inside your browser, your files are never uploaded anywhere: private recordings stay private.

How it works

  1. Load your audio. Choose or drop an MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG or voice-note file. The waveform draws itself in seconds.
  2. Select the part you want. Drag the handles on the waveform, drag inside the selection to move it, or use the Start and End sliders for precision.
  3. Preview and polish. Play just the selection. Tick Fade in or Fade out if you want smooth edges.
  4. Download your cut. Save as MP3 for sharing and ringtones, or WAV when you need lossless quality.

Why Beyond

  • Visual waveform editing — see the loud and quiet parts before you cut.
  • Sample-accurate selection with drag handles plus fine sliders.
  • Your audio never leaves your device; trimming happens in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Which audio formats can I trim?+

MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, OGG and most voice-note formats — anything your browser itself can play, it can trim. Your cut can be downloaded as WAV or MP3 regardless of the original format.

Is the audio uploaded anywhere?+

No. The file is decoded and cut inside your browser, on your device. Nothing is uploaded or stored — the tool even works offline once the page has loaded.

WAV or MP3 — which should I download?+

WAV is lossless (identical quality to the decoded original, bigger file). MP3 at 192kbps sounds the same to almost everyone and is much smaller — best for ringtones, WhatsApp and sharing.

Can I make a ringtone with this?+

Yes — cut the best 15–30 seconds, add a fade out so it does not stop abruptly, and save as MP3. On Android you can set it directly in sound settings; on iPhone, move it via the Files app and GarageBand.

Is this audio trimmer free?+

Yes — completely free, no sign-up and no watermark.

Can I trim a WhatsApp voice note?+

Yes. Save the voice note to your files first (WhatsApp → the note → share/save), then load it here. WhatsApp notes are usually .opus or .m4a — modern browsers decode both; if one refuses, converting it once to MP3 with any converter and then trimming works.

How long can the audio be?+

There is no fixed limit, but very long files (full albums, hour-long recordings) use a lot of device memory while decoding. For long recordings, most people trim the section they need from a shorter extract.
