Somebody sent you a QR code as a picture? Upload it here and read exactly what it contains — before you open anything. Safer than scanning blind, and the image never leaves your device.

📷 Drop the QR image here, or tap to choose it

You can also paste an image straight from your clipboard (Ctrl+V).

Tip: if a code will not read, crop the picture so the code fills the frame and all four corners show, then try again.

About the QR Code Decoder

People send QR codes as pictures all the time — on flyers in WhatsApp groups, in screenshots, in adverts — but your phone's camera can't scan a picture that's already inside the phone. Beyond's QR Code Decoder closes that gap: feed it the image and it reads the code and shows you exactly what is inside, as readable text, before you decide to open anything.

That 'before you open anything' matters. Fake QR codes pointing to look-alike bank and payment pages are a real scam pattern, and this tool is the safe habit: decode first, read the destination with your own eyes, then open only if it is genuinely the site you expected. WiFi codes get a tidy network-and-password card, contact cards and links are labelled for what they are, and the image itself never leaves your device.

How it works

  1. Add the QR image. Upload it, drag it in, or paste a copied image straight from your clipboard.
  2. Read the contents. The decoder shows what the code contains — a link, WiFi details, a contact card or plain text.
  3. Decide safely. Check links carefully before opening them. Copy the contents with one tap if that is all you need.

Why Beyond

  • Reads QR codes from screenshots and photos — no second phone needed.
  • A safety tool as much as a reader: see destinations before opening them.
  • The image is decoded on your device and never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Is the QR image uploaded to a server?+

No. The code is read inside your browser, on your device. The image is never uploaded, stored or seen by anyone — useful when a QR code might contain a private WiFi password or payment link.

Why could my QR code not be read?+

Usually the image is blurry, too small, tilted, or the code is damaged or partly covered. Try a sharper screenshot, crop the image so the code fills more of the frame, and make sure all four corners of the code are visible.

What kinds of QR codes can it read?+

Website links, WiFi login codes, contact cards (vCard), phone numbers, email and SMS codes, crypto addresses and plain text — anything encoded as a standard QR code.

Should I open every link a QR code contains?+

No — that is exactly why this tool exists. Read the contents first and check the link looks like the real website before opening it. Strange spellings or shorteners you do not recognise are a warning sign.

Is this QR decoder free?+

Yes — completely free, no sign-up, no limits.

Can it read a QR code from a screenshot of a payment request?+

Yes — and you should. Decode it first and confirm the destination or account details match who you intend to pay. If anything looks off, do not proceed.

The code in my photo will not read. What helps?+

Crop the image tightly around the code so it fills the frame, use the sharpest version you have, and make sure all four corners of the code are visible and not cut off or covered.
